For children who are 3 by September
Three's Program
This program is designed for children who will be 3 years old by September 30. Your child must be independent in the bathroom, i.e. be able to take care of all his/her own toileting needs. There is one lead teacher and one assistant in each classroom with an average student to teacher ratio of 5:1.
Morning classes are available with extended day options available.
At Bethlehem Early Learning Center, we recognize that each child is unique and will develop at their own pace. Our well trained, caring staff guides and supports the children at their individual levels while fostering natural curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning to extend well past each child’s preschool experience.
Language & Literacy
These younger years are critical to literacy development. In our Three’s classrooms, children continue to identify letters and their sounds using a multisensory approach. They recognize names and titles of others and recognize their own name in print. Children in this group will be able to follow simple directions. They spend plenty of time immersed in theme-based stories in a variety of genres which encourages a love of literature and an excitement for reading in the future.
Math, Science, & Creative Arts
Problem solving skills and natural curiosity are nurtured at Bethlehem. Math skills such as shape and number recognition, patterning, and counting are all introduced through hands-on learning. Children are natural scientists. They explore the world around them using their senses to observe and investigate. At this age, children learn to follow directions and develop their creativity through crafts and process art. In addition, children participate in weekly music classes and enjoy school-wide performances.
Physical Development
Active children become active adults! They hone skills like running, jumping, hopping, marching, and other coordinated movement through dance and the use of specialized equipment during PE Classes in our full-sized gymnasium. The children run and play outdoors in our playground at least once per day when weather permits. Fine motor skills continue to be developed at this age by cutting, gluing, drawing, and forming letters and numbers.
Social/Emotional & Spiritual
Our students gain self-confidence and a love of learning in everything that they do at BELC. Children learn Bible stories and simple prayers during their weekly Chapel visits and story time in class. At this age, they learn how to enjoy activities led by others as well as taking initiative with their own tasks and play situations. Children begin to demonstrate independent learning and the ability to care for themselves and to be aware of others around them.
