Special events

  • meet and greet - september

To ease the transition into school, each child will have the opportunity to see their classroom and meet his or her teacher before school starts.  During this time the children meet other classmates and can play together. Parents have the opportunity to meet other parents and speak with the teacher regarding any questions or concerns they may have.

  • back to school night - September

An informational session for parents to learn more about our curriculum and get to know more about what your child's day will look like over the course of the year.

  • hallelujah night - October

This event is a fun alternative to Halloween. Bring the whole family for a night filled with games, crafts, food and contests. The evening ends with the ever-popular "Trunk or Treat". This event runs in conjunction with our Pumpkin Patch fundraiser.

  • parent chapel visit - october

Parents are invited to observe this special time of learning and praise that makes our school so unique.  The joy is so contagious you might want to sing along!

  • thanksgiving feast - November

This school wide event for students only, is held the week before Thanksgiving in our full-sized gym. The children share in a "friendsgiving" feast with food prepared by parent volunteers and ends with music and singing led Ms. Sammy, our music teacher.

Our children delight us with their beautiful voices in singing songs to celebrate Jesus' birth.  A truly heart-warming and special event that is not to be missed.

  • parent gym day - January

Parents have the opportunity to participate in our Wednesday gym class with their child.  Be ready to work out BELC-style!

  • Read across america week - March

We celebrate an author study, and kick off our Book Fair.  The children celebrate the stories and authors they have read over the past year and for many years to come.

  • dad's day - March

A yearly favorite, this Saturday event allows dads the opportunity to spend quality time (1 1/2 hours)  with their child at school. The morning is filled with many fun activities such as gym, a craft project, snacks, and the highlight of the day (at least for the children) is the "shaving station".

  • SPIRIT WEEK - March

A fun week with a different theme each day. Some themes we have had in the past are crazy hat/hair day, pajama day, patriotic day, sports day, crazy socks day and more.

  • walk-a-thon - March

This is one of our charitable events and is usually held each year on the Wednesday of spirit week. Parents are invited to cheer on their children as they walk around the gym with lively music and some challenging obstacles.

  • scoop night - april

We bring our families together to welcome spring and to socialize while enjoying ice cream served by their celebrity scoopers, the BELC staff at Ben & Jerry's.

  • mother's tea - May

On the Friday before Mother's Day, moms join their child in their classroom for a special morning with their 4 year child. Children serve their moms to let them know how much they are loved.  Moms should bring their favorite teacup.

  • field day - june

Our 4 year olds have a fun day outdoors (weather permitting) doing fun activities such as water balloon toss, going through an obstacle course, etc. At the end of it all they enjoy ice pops to help them cool down.

  • picnic - june

As the year draws to a close, we invite our families to a school wide picnic.

  • closing program - June

While saying "good-bye" can be sad, this program will warm your hearts.   A moving-up ceremony for our 4 year-olds who are leaving BELC and moving on to Kindergarten is also included in this final event of the year.
